My Mom is a retired math teacher and has endless patience when it comes to doing projects with kids. On our last visit, she taught Maggie & Bjørn how to make delicious dumplings from scratch. Quite the production, but remarkably easy to make. The kids were so proud to serve their masterpieces, and were quick to point out which ones were made (designed) by which kid.
Chicken (or turkey) dumplings:
- egg-roll wrappers
- ground chicken or turkey
- fresh grated ginger (to taste)
- 1 chopped scallion or crushed garlic (to taste)
- 1 finely grated zucchini
- chicken stock
Mix all ingredients except for the wrappers.
Place 1 tsp of mix in the center of your wrap.
Moisten edges with a bit of water so they'll stick, fold in half, and press outer edges together to seal.
Drop in simmering chicken broth, let cook for about 4 minutes (test with the first one to see how long it takes as timing may vary).
Enjoy!
